Privacy policy

Sambatpatro (“we”) runs the calendar website at https://sambatpatro.com, the Sambatpatro desktop widget, and the calendars other websites can embed. This page explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. In short: we don't sell your information, we don't use it for advertising profiles, and you can delete your account and notes at any time.

Using the website without an account

• Server logs. Like every website, our server records requests (your IP address, browser, the page and the time) to keep the site running and secure. Logs are deleted after at most 30 days.
• Cookies. We only use cookies the site needs to work: your language choice, a security (CSRF) token, and a session cookie when you sign in. We use no advertising or analytics cookies.
• Banners. When you click an announcement or advertisement banner, we count the click. We don't record who clicked.
• Fonts and libraries. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts and a slideshow script from jsDelivr, so those services receive your IP address when you visit.

Your account

• What we keep: your username, name, email address and a scrambled (hashed) password, or, if you sign in with Google, your Google account ID, name, email address and profile picture.
• Your notes and events (text, date, time, details, reminder and whether it's done), so we can show them to you on the website and in your desktop widget and send the reminders you ask for.
• Email is used only for your account, such as password-reset messages.

Google sign-in and Google Calendar

Signing in with Google only gives us your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID.

Connecting Google Calendar is optional and only happens if you choose it. If you do, we use the access you grant (calendar.events) only to keep your Sambatpatro notes and your primary Google Calendar in sync:

• we read events in your primary calendar from 30 days ago to a year ahead and show them as your notes;
• we create, change and delete Google Calendar events for the notes you add, change or delete in Sambatpatro.

The access tokens Google gives us are stored on our server and used only for this sync. You can pause sync or disconnect Google at any time in Account settings; disconnecting revokes our access at Google. You can also remove access from your Google Account permissions page.

Sambatpatro's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular: we use Google data only to provide the calendar sync you asked for; we never sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models; and no person at Sambatpatro reads it unless you ask us to help with a problem, it's needed for security, or the law requires it.

The desktop widget

• The widget keeps your notes and settings on your computer and works offline.
• When online, it asks our server for calendar data and banners. The server sees your IP address and the widget's version, as in the server logs above.
• If you sign in in the widget, it stores a sign-in token on your computer (in the widget's data folder) and syncs your notes with your account, and through it with Google Calendar if you connected it. We record your computer's name so you can recognise it under Account settings → Desktop widgets, where you can disconnect it. Signing out removes your account's notes from that computer; they stay in your account.
• When you download the widget, we count the download (date, platform and version), not who downloaded it.

Calendars embedded on other websites

If a website shows our calendar, your browser loads it from our server, so we see the request as in the server logs. For a sample of views, the embedded calendar tells us the name of the website it's shown on (for example example.com), so we know which sites use it. It sends nothing about you. The website that embeds it has its own privacy policy.

Who we share information with

We don't sell or rent your information. We share it only with the services that run the site for us (our hosting provider and email provider), with Google when you use Google sign-in or Calendar sync, or when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and notes until you delete them. Deleting your account (in Account settings) permanently deletes your account, your notes and our Google tokens, and signs out your desktop widgets. Events already copied into your Google Calendar stay there, because they're yours. Backups are overwritten within 30 days.

Your choices and rights

You can see and change your notes and profile at any time, download your notes by syncing them to Google Calendar, disconnect Google, and delete your account. To ask what we hold about you, or for anything else, write to contact@sambatpatro.com.

Security

The site uses HTTPS. Passwords are stored hashed, never in readable form. Staff access to the Studio is limited by role, and changes are logged.

Children

Sambatpatro is a general calendar. Accounts are not meant for children under 13 without a parent's permission.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date above. For important changes we'll also tell signed-in users on the website.
